    1. Why did they make the duckling adorable and cute in the illustrations? If it's supposed to be ugly, shouldn't it be, I don't know, ugly? The duckling also continually says no one wants it. Its mother did, otherwise she wouldn't have shown it off to everyone along with her other babies, wouldn't have stated it was special within its earshot, and would have chased it away and let it die.

    2. The illustrations of this book were beautiful. Even better was the audio-cassette that came along with it. I used to loop it again and again. Even if the message was kinda weird ("You are ugly; go away" and "You are beautiful; come live with us"), this one edition of the Ugly Duckling truly touched me.

    3. KS1I used this book for a week of learning with a y1 English class.You are able to get many lessons out of the book and although I thought the children would tire from the book they continued to enjoy it and the lessons that where being given to them.
